Turn your scrolling into a game
You already scroll. ScrollWars counts your reels on Instagram and TikTok, shows how you stack up, and gives you a little cloud who reacts to every swipe.

How it works
Switch it on once
Turn on the ScrollWars accessibility service in Android settings. It takes about a minute.
Scroll like normal
Every forward reel on Instagram, TikTok or TikTok Lite adds to your count. Comments, DMs and half-swipes never do.
Watch the cloud
Your mascot gets perky, content, sleepy or sleeps, depending on how much you scrolled today. Check the leaderboard to see where you stand.
Your privacy comes first
ScrollWars needs Android's accessibility permission to notice when you swipe. That is a sensitive permission, so here is exactly what we do with it.
What it does
- Notices that a scroll happened inside Instagram, TikTok or TikTok Lite.
- Adds one to your count when you swipe to the next video.
- Saves your counts, per app and per hour.
What it never does
- Read what is on your screen, what you watch or who you follow.
- Read messages, passwords, photos, contacts or your location.
- Sell your data or show you ads.
The service is set up so that it cannot read screen content. Read the full privacy policy, or delete your account any time.
Download and install
This is an early beta. We share it directly for now, so Android will ask for a few extra taps. Here is how to get through them.
Download ScrollWars (APK)
About 36 MB. Works on 64-bit Android phones (almost all recent ones).
- Open the file. If Android says your browser cannot install apps, tap Settings and allow installs from this source, then go back.
- If Play Protect warns you, tap More details, then Install anyway. The warning appears because the app is not on Google Play yet. If the install is blocked, open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Play Protect, and pause app scanning while you install. Switch it back on after.
- Open ScrollWars and answer the quick age question.
- Turn on counting. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Installed apps, ScrollWars and switch it on. On Samsung and some other phones, if the switch is greyed out, open Settings, Apps, ScrollWars, tap the three dots at the top right, and choose Allow restricted settings. Then try again.
- Scroll! Open Instagram Reels or TikTok and swipe. Come back to see your count.
Questions
Why does it need accessibility access?
It is the only way Android lets an app notice swipes inside other apps. We set it up so it cannot read your screen. It only sees that a scroll happened in a video feed.
Which apps does it count?
Instagram Reels, TikTok and TikTok Lite. More are planned. YouTube Shorts does not work yet.
My banking app says it will not run.
Some banks refuse to open while any accessibility service is on. In ScrollWars, tap Banking mode on the home screen to switch counting off, use your bank, then turn counting back on from the same screen.
Counting stopped. What now?
Force-stopping the app or some battery cleaners switch the service off. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Installed apps, ScrollWars and switch it on again.
Is it free? Does it have ads?
Yes, it is free, and there are no ads. In the future we plan optional cosmetic items, like outfits for your mascot. They will never be needed to play.
Is it on iPhone?
No. Android only, for now.
Is it for kids?
No. ScrollWars is meant for people 16 and over. We ask your age band once, and we do not collect your birth date.
I received the sign-in code in spam.
That can happen while we are new. Check your spam or junk folder, and mark the email as "Not spam".
